DAY 03 / Seu código

You Already Started Building (Your Code is Probably Broken)

It works on your computer. That's exactly why you think you're done — and exactly why you're not.

You probably already started

Maybe you already started. You used Lovable, Bolt, or Cursor Composer. You built something. It works on your computer.

You're excited. You think you're done.

Let me tell you the truth: your code is probably garbage.

Not because you're bad at this. Because AI tools optimize for SPEED, not QUALITY. They get you to 80% in 3 days. Then you're stuck at 80% forever.

The brutal part: you don't know what's wrong

You don't know what's wrong. It works when you test it. So it feels done.

But here are the questions you can't answer yet — and the honest answers hiding underneath them:

Can it handle 1,000 users?
Probably crashes.
Can users see each other's data?
Probably yes — security disaster.
Can you add features later?
Probably need to rebuild everything.
Will it pass a developer's review?
Probably "this is unmaintainable garbage."

You don't know because you've never shipped production software before.

The good news: it's fixable

Even if you built it wrong, it's fixable.

You don't need to start over. You need to know WHAT'S wrong. Then fix those specific things.

That's why I created the audit. 30 minutes. 15 simple questions. No code knowledge required.

You ask Claude each question. Claude answers. You score it. At the end: you get a grade (A-F) and know EXACTLY what to fix.

The 5 categories

The audit scores your project across five things AI loves to cut corners on:

1
Architecture
Can you add features without rebuilding?
2
Security
Can users see each other's data?
3
Performance
Will it handle 1,000 users?
4
Testing
How do you know it works?
5
Code Quality
Is it maintainable?

Read your score

Once you have your grade, here's exactly what to do with it:

Score 80+
Ship it. You're good.
Score 60-79
Fix the critical issues (2-3 weeks), then ship.
Score below 60
Rebuild properly using the prompts from yesterday's guide.

Better to know NOW than after you have 1,000 users and everything collapses.

I still run this weekly

Full transparency: I built FIKR Space — 679 tables, 2M+ lines of code. And I STILL run this audit weekly.

Not because I'm paranoid. Because even after 12 months of building, AI still tries to cut corners. I catch it with the audit before it becomes a problem.

If I use this on a platform that costs €2M+ to build traditionally, you need this for your project. Run the audit. Get your score. Fix what's broken.

Still sitting in that corporate job? Still stuck in meetings where your ideas get ignored? This audit is the first step toward your escape. Run it. Know where you stand. Then act.

Tomorrow: the tools. You're paralyzed by choice. Here's what actually works.

If you picked C or D, here's what your answer says about you: you're not bad at this — you just optimized for the wrong thing. AI tools got you to 80% in 3 days and then told you you were done. You're not. You've simply never shipped production software before, so "it works when I test it" feels like the finish line instead of the starting line.

The good news your answer hides: knowing you don't know is the whole game. The people who crash at 1,000 users are the ones who never asked the question. You just asked it. Now go run the audit and find out exactly which of the five things is broken — then fix those specific things.

SELF-ASSESSMENT
01
You built something with AI and it works when you test it. How confident are you in what's under the hood?
  • A - It works, so it's done. I'm shipping it.
  • B - It works, but I honestly have no idea if it can handle real users.
  • C - I suspect something's wrong but I don't know what, or how to check.
  • D - I know it's held together with tape — I just don't know which parts.
  • E - I've already audited it and know exactly where it stands.
